Dr. Alan Grant, Ed.D. Back
Dr. Grant retired from the Advisory Board October 2011.
Dr. Grant has held successful positions over the span of his long career which have included electronics research engineer, entrepreneur, corporate executive, corporate director and venture capitalist. Paralleling all of these activities has been his service on the faculties of a number of high profile business administration and engineering colleges and universities. He has also been listed in WHO'S WHO in the World and WHO'S WHO in America for over twenty-five years.
Over this time, Dr. Grant’s Management Consulting and Venture Capital organizations have provided seed capital and professional management guidance on both a national and international basis to over 30 high-growth companies in the electronics, computer and national defense industries. He has also served on the Boards of Directors of 17 public and private corporations ranging from initial start-ups to international companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
Dr. Grant has held faculty positions with the Illinois Institute of Technology, the University of California, Los Angeles, the University of Nevada, Reno, San Diego State University, California State University, Long Beach, and held the “Paul T. Babson Professor in Entrepreneurial Studies” endowed chair at Babson College. He has also been honored with numerous academic achievement awards for his contributions to entrepreneurial literature, leadership and education.
He earned his Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Electrical Engineering from the Illinois Institute of Technology, and his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of San Diego. In addition, Dr. Grant has the distinction of having been listed in Who's Who in America for 40 consecutive years.
Dr. Grant also hosted the Bridges to Jobs training module Starting Your Own Business that presents the key requirements for successfully creating a new business. At the September 2011 Job Acquisition Skills Workshop, there was standing room only for this breakout presentation.
